Gunsmithing Cut down a McMillan?

I've got a McMillan that I ordered with a hair too much LOP that I would like to cut down. Problem is, the decelerator isn't removeable.

Any suggestions on how to go about doing it? Just say fuck it and hack it off and find a new Pachmayr?

If it were mine, I would give McMillan a call or pm Dick Davis here on the hide. That way there would be no question on it looking right after it is done.

It is a new stock. Send it back to McMillan so it can look nice and professional. This ain't no ADL tupperware.

I think the gelcoat can crack if you are not careful.
