I recently picked up a Fix rifle in 6.5 Creed. One of the big draws for me was the compact design. I really like the 16" .308 barrel but wanted it in 6.5 creed. I am thinking of taking the 22" barrel into my local smith to have it trimmed down to 16". Are there any pros or cons to doing this other then losing some velocity?

I cut my 22" Creedmoor barrel down to 16.5" If done properly by a competent gun smith you shouldn't see any accuracy issues. Cutting The Fix barrel isn't any different than cutting down a barrel on any other bolt gun. As you mentioned, about the only negative is the loss in velocity.

Cut down, makes for a much better handling rifle in my opinion.

Had mine cut and fluted, I would do it 10 times over again.
