Gunsmithing Cutting Barrel to prefit specs

Anybody done this? I’m getting a 16.5 proof and not sure if I want it shouldered or cut it to prefit specs to use on a different action (possibly)

Well my nucleus and o was thinking of picking up a Mausingfield or TL3

I'm pretty sure all 3 take savage small shank. Barrel nut is the only way you will be able to swap it in and out I believe

I’m pretty sure it’s possible but I haven’t heard of anyone taking a barrel blank and chambering to prefit specs

Shouldered (non-barrel nut) pre-fit barrels can be ordered from a number of shops. Any action that has a published barrel tenon cut drawing can be reproduced by a competent gunsmith.
