Hello all,

Just wanted to share some pics of my recent CZ 455 refit project. Things I've done were:

1. Changed factory thinner profile barrel for the factory varmint heavy barrel.
2. Changed factory walnut stock for Boyd's laminated wood tacticool stock.
3. Pillar and skim bedded barreled action.
4. Installed new picatinny rail.
5. Painted the stock.

The stock camo paint job was not based on any templates, I was just messing around with painter's tape and Krylon. I had a few hours to spare this past weekend so I "played" with the stock; it was not meant to be anything serious or "correct" so please excuse the angles/straight lines. :)

All I need now are a set of 1" picatinny rings in maybe medium height and I'll be good to go! Can't wait to shoot it.

It's lookin' good. I have a similar project I'm doing on my CZ 455. I'm glad to see you only bedded at the two action screws. I am planning on the same thing.

Who did the bolt knob?

Thanks glock24. I got the knob from Kampfeld, and had Randall from AR15barrel.com install it since he is local. $25 for the knob and $40 for the install.

BTW, with the DIP rail and a BSA 4-14 scope, I used Low Burris XTR rings.

But one BIG fallacy. Projects like these are NEVER done. :)

Thanks much on the recommendations for the rings. I used to run a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x40 on the action's factory 11 mm "rails" with Burris mediums, but now I am debating using my Vortex Crossfire which is 50 mm on the rifle, so I think I'll be needing either mediums or highs. I'll be taking the rifle and scope to a local shop and just try out a few combos.

I think this is as much as I'll be doing on this CZ other than maybe painting the barreled action but we'll see. I'm glad I don't have a 10/22 yet because I'll be modding that forever...
