Well I made up my mind to get a new deer rifle. As far as pure custom went, this Dakota was the best value for the money. i saw one at the safari club show and fell in love with it. light, much lighter than my 14# 7mmWSM quick, in my opinion, beautiful. i wanted to go back to a wood stock for this project. They let me pick my stock blank. It has a 24" Douglass Premium match SS 1-8 twist barrel. Jewell trigger 1.5#, It's built on a Dakota extra small action, looks like a Nesika "J" action. The largest caliber they offer is the 6.5 Grendel. I studies up on this neat little cartrige and i'm convinced , with the proper bullet and load, it will get the job done. I haven't shot it yet but if I can duplicate the tset target, I'll be happy. did some loading this morning. I will try to get out, break the barrel in and see if she has promise.
