yes, dpms will take 308 pmag
no, never had to change out a dpms spring
currently, to get anything better than a dpms like LMT, LWRC, or whatever you are going to have a hell of a time finding one, and second the price will be around or just north of 3k price range. Maybe even close to 4k until all this crap blows over... Prices might be back to normal if no more sandy hook nut jobs happen, or Feinstein long lost gun control nut sister takes her place once she kicks the bucket.
if you're looking for something under 2k in a 308,,, then you have about 2 options. dpms or rock river. I've owned both dpms and rock river and have never had any problems and they are both great rifles. both have advantages and disadvantages. dpms would have an edge in compatibility of parts and can take pmags.... rock river would have an edge in accuracy but not by much and can NOT take pmags in 308 cal. My rock river EOP is just as accurate as my LMT, but then again im comparing a 223 to 308. Thing is with DPMS, you either get lucky with a very accurate rifle, or just an OK rifle type of thing.
this 308 rock river was just up for sale on Kentucky gun company for $1500 with free shipping, but it just sold. This is actually an OK price and was about $1350ish before shit hit the fan a few months ago.

Really, no matter what you do with a 308 semi AR, with glass like 4-16x50 with mount, it is going to be a heavy bitch over 10lb.
Hope this helps.
I'm looking at buying a dpms 308 and just looking for some answers.
Will they accept the magpul mags?
Has anyone had to change out the buffers or springs to make them run better?
Are they worth the money or should a guy just buy a lwrc or an arma lite, or something more in that $2,000 or better range?
I've had a few different AR 15 but never an auto in a 308 please let me know what you guys are thinking!
