It has come to my attention that the .308 round from Summit ammunitions that destroyed my rifle was not a isolated instance and they misloaded an entire or partial batch with .50BMG powder. These are "factory reloads" in LC brass with mixed datestamps. I unfortunately DO NOT have a lot # on the batch that I had.
When this origionally happened I though they had just double charged my single round. But someone else in AL has had a rifle destroyed by these rounds as well. These are massively overcharged and WILL destroy your rifle and easily injure someone.
If you own some, I would contact the people you purchased them from and summit. If someone finds out the exact lot # please post here.
This was a MIXED powder batch, not just accidentally loaded with the BMG powder only. Its not just a slow burn issue, its explosive and has completely destroyed 2 rifles that we know of. I use the word DESTROYED and not the word damaged for a reason.
