I searched up and down for an H20 case volume comparison that included LC and Starline but had tough time finding much data; most of it was case weight (which doesn't really show anything). So, here are results of a small test on a new batch of 1,000 Starline 223 Brass. I sampled 21 new cases for general overall weight, (10) for H20 capacity when new unfired and 25 fired cases. I'm very impressed for the cost ($213 shipped for 1,000 pieces of virgin brass).

The internal volume of new brass (29.1gr avg) is significantly lower than fired LC 556 (which is usually around 30.7 for my 1000 round lot) but fired Starline is 30.2gr avg which is about .5gr lower than LC. Velocity is up for same weight of powder and SD is waaaayyyy down compared to LC.

My SD's all nearly all single digit with XBR8208 which ive only been close to accomplishing with CFE223 so far in any case/223 load. All rounds charged with RCBS Chargmaster, so nothing special in terms of scale.

75 ELDMs 2.430", CCI400s (had them lying around for burner bullets and primers). SD's are down by about 50% over LC (single lot) and velocity are up with less powder:
23.8gr - 2940/9.3
24gr - 2958/9.0 (LC produces about 2900 avg and SD of 17 with this load)
24.2 - 2987/3.7
24.4 - 3002/11.9 (LC takes about 25gr and SD of 18 to crack 3000fps)
24.6 - 3019/7.1

See picture below for individual numbers. Hope this is useful for those trying to lower SDs on 223s.
