Out West
Dave at Dave's Metal Works finished my Colt Commander, he did a great job on it!
Specs are:
Steel Colt Commander frame with 20 LPI checkering, S&A magwell blended to the frame
Caspian slide with 10-8 rear sight and Tritium front sight
Slight rounding of all the edges
Bar Sto barrel in .45 ACP
Cylinder & Slide hammer and sear set
VZ Operator grips
Cerakote finish in (what else?) Sniper Gray

Dave let me shoot the pistol before he did the final finish so we could get everything working properly before he did the all the blending and coating.I'm really fortunate the have such a great gunsmith only 20 minutes away that listens to what I want and offers great suggestions on a pistol build.
Now it's off to the range to see how well the Cerakote holds up to holster wear.

Re: Dave's Metal Works Commander

He did a great job on the de-horn and I like the chamfered slidestop hole and bobbed slide stop pin. I like the way he rounded the bottom of the magwell also. Nice looking Blaster, Mike.

Re: Dave's Metal Works Commander

The trigger is a nylon Chip McCormick.
The left side safety is a stock Colt safety that was mated to an extended right side safety. I shoot left handed and don't like the extended safety on the left side, it tends to catch on cover garments.

Re: Dave's Metal Works Commander

The smith shows excellent attention to detail, note that the grip screws and the mag release screw are indexed.

BPA, I missed the slide stop mods. Had to go back and look, nice catch.

CamW, I'll bet it shoots even better than it looks. Let us know.
