Last winter I was out with my DBAL-I2 and it was very cold like 10* or lower and the visible laser would crap out but the IR laser was fine. If I took it off and set it on the dash of my truck and warmed it with the defroster it would come back on. Is this normal? Also is there a way to tighten up the pigtail for the remote? It away's falls out from the recoil.

Captain Moroni Iam guessing that you have a green vis laser? Due to the crystal make up of tthese colored lasers they do not do well below freezing while the red lasers are much stable at colder temps.

There was a great article in the NRA magazine early this year I think talking about green vis lasers that was very well written. First I saw someone explained it correctly in a magazine. We have talked about these aspects on our web site for awhile now.

Hope this helps. :)
