Gunsmithing DBM swap seekins for surgeon or badger

Not much in my search on this on the footprint of these. I bought a 243 last year it is a remington 700 short action in a mcmillan a5 with an original seekins bottom metal that uses seekins mags not the aics magazines. Due to lack of availability of anything over 5 rounds and even finding more of those from seekins I was trying to figure out how close the inlet is or if I can have a competent smith swap dbm's in my current mcmillan a5 from seekins to surgeon or badger without having it look bad or not fit properly.

Why not switch it to the Seekins DBM that accepts the AICS mags? I believe they are the same footprint, but I am not sure.

That may be an option, I found surgeon in stock and the newer seekins is not. Granted I have not spent the time to scour the numerous sources that might sell them but the two I checked, one being seekins site did not have the one you reference on hand. I am trying to get something done or at least have it purchased in the next month or less so availability is a concern.
