I'd like to look old school on my clone already have everything but a mount system. How would Dednutz one piece look? I'd like IBA or Texas BA set but a little pricey. Alternatives and suggestions appreciated.

It is quickly becoming my go to mount. It is lighter, cheaper, and at least as strong if not stronger than using both a base and ring system. The three I have so far have been very well made. The only down side is the cheesy name...

They're pretty ugly looking too. The local shop has them in stock and I think they are overpriced.
Some people I've talked to love them, but I can't get over their looks...

Why not go with a Redfield Jr base and rings. They are reasonably priced and consistent with an early clone.

Just a thot.
Hope this helps.

Butt ugly IMO. It looks like someone welded two split-collars to a piece of bar stock and called it a scope mount.

Keep saving for the real thing, or get a contemporary set of rings and bases.

Ugly or not they are a 1/2 pound less weight to carry compared to a tactical steel base and ring set. They get you a lower to the bore as well.

If you are not going to build a true clone and want lighter weight then I would get Talley Lightweights in the appropriate height and size.

I'm originally from Indiana, but the family is from Tennessee...

I like my DNZ products. They are CNC machined, so I think looking like they are "welded" is not an accurate description.

They eliminate the possibility of the rings being misaligned, and also eliminate the possibility of the rings loosening on the mount. Also, like the Talley Rings, they are made in the US of A (in North Carolina, for the DNZ).

I've never had one leave a mark on a scope, and as advertised, have never needed to lap the rings on a DNZ product.

The looks are not for everyone, but then neither is Guinness.

Go Big T!

Man these look awesome. Ive always wanted something like this. I wonder wich one would work on my Savage 10 with a 50mm objective?

Do these have a built in recoil lug? My only concern is how it attaches to the receiver. With my base+rings setup, I permanently bed the base to the receiver and switch out rings as I choose. I wouldn't want to permanently mount this to a rifle so I was wondering if the screws alone were enough to hold it in place.

No lug and I have not had any issues using the supplied T15 screws torqued to 22-25 inch pounds per DNZ instructions.

Outstanding sub 3oz product, I use them on a couple rifles and have installed several for friends.
The cutout makes single feeding manageable with thick gloves.
Never needed to lap them, they're on paper @100yds every time, no ring marks but I use a feeler gauge to hold gap while torquing.
This is a plus, as most aluminum rings are hard anodized and lapping destroys the coating.
They are a solid choice if you use a dedicated scope on each rifle.
I think they'd look good on an M40A1 build & they'd work great.
