Ballistic FTE can take Density Altitude directly (e.g., if you got it from Kestrel).
But it's (in my opinion) much simpler (and better) to take Pressure Altitude, temperature and humidity (again, everything from Kestrel) and let Ballistic FTE compute Density Altitude (which it does quite nicely).
An alternative is to take GPS altitude, enter it into Kestrel, get SLP-corrected <span style="text-decoration: line-through">altitude</span> <span style="font-style: italic">pressure</span> from Kestrel, and input both (along with temperature and humidity) to Ballistic FTE.
Lastly, the worst is getting GPS altitude, weather data from a weather station (that may be 1 mile or 40 miles away from your shooting spot).
