Devcon for texturing too?

I tried a search, but kept coming up with Marine-Tex for texturing. I have some Devcon on the way, but is this also suitable to use for texturing or is it too hard?

I used it before, followed the instructions same as Marine-Tex and came out perfect.

do not try the stuff in the 2 - 1 oz tubes. it will not texture. it labeled devcon. it leveled even after thickening
