I have used FGMM 308 168SMK for the last few years with consistent results. I just purchased a case (same part number GM308M) and it came in different packaging and shoots 1 MOA lower than the previous FGMM (Compared side by side). Curious if Federal changed anything with their recipe? It still groups the same just with a different point of impact. Thanks for reading

They changed packaging a year or two ago.

Assumed same performance.

I've shot old box and new box, didn't change anything in my scope. Might be a tenth plus or a tenth minus but that's probably environmental or my physical being.

Show us the new packaging...

Also, what round count on that barrel? Possibly it's losing speed already!
New box on the bottom. Unsure of the round count on my rifle but I shot the boxes side by side and the POI would change back and forth.

Well if that's the case, I just got sold an old stock of ammo from target sports USA
Look over the red box really well. My red box (lower) ammo just like yours, has a date of 2009 on it. The lower boxes have been around over 10 years. Your top box ammo is a newer packaging and it looks like Federal has even newer packaging than that.

Quick update. Federal got back to me regarding the date code on the case packaging and it was manufactured in early 2019. Both have brass casings have the same headstamp and blue sealant on the primers. I guess it is what it is.
