Did I make a mistake? Savage 111 Trophy Hunter to build from

I purchased a Savage 111 Trophy Hunter yesterday to start an entry level LR/Precision gun. Quite a few people told me it would be decent, but i think they were talking about the Model 11...

I cant find crap that will fit this gun as far as stocks, and that is the first thing that I need to change/want to change.


I am a new shooter when it comes to long range.

Yep.

Models with the bottom bolt release have far fewer options when it comes to stocks.

No

McMillan will inlet any of their A-Series stocks for your action. XLR and McRees both make chassis for your action. Pretty much nobody keeps stocks inletted for Savage LA's in stock because so few people build a LR rig on them. I built a .308 on a Stevens action that shoots sub .5 MOA with handloads (5 round groups prone in the dirt with a bipod @ 100 yards) and plan on a LA build myself hopefully this spring.
