I was I the middle of my first attempt at bedding my rem700 5r in an h.s. precision stock when I got a call from the boss saying that I was urgently needed. Needless to say I had already started mixing the epoxy and was rushed to get it in place so I guess I didn't add enough in the barrel channel area between the clay dam and recoil lug leaving a shallow spot. My question is will it work like this or will I have to add more to even it out to avoid pressure points. This was my first attempt to bed a rifle so any help for a newbie would help, thanks.

It will probably shoot just fine as-is.

Personally, however, I would sand/dremel it down and refill that area.

It doesnt look that great but since it was your first time trying it go out and shoot your rifle and see how it does. If it works good shoot it, if it groups like shit then start over.
