Was at a local gun shop today looking for a bolt action rifle and I noticed what looks like the t3 CTR. It felt nice and was really interested but wanted to do some research before I pulled the trigger. He told me he would sell it for $910.00 out the door. When I got home I noticed that tikka has now come out with a newer t3x model for $999.00.

Are there any benefits in the t3x model that the regular t3 model doesn't have? Also, is 910.00 a good price for the t3 or should I look at getting the newer model else where?

After sales tax, $30 shipping, and FFL I am over $950. The difference between a t3 from local gun store and t3x from cabelas is around $170.

What?? You'd only pay sales tax if you lived in Alabama, and I don't know where you live but FFL's around here charge $25-$30 for transfers. You must live in a unfree state like California, Mass or NY......But you asked if $910. if its local gun shop is a good price for a T3. I showed what you can get it for elsewhere. Now you want to argue with me, like I got some skin in the game. Buy what you like, where you like.....

Haha easy man.. not arguing here just stating what the total would end up being for me. I have to pay a transfer fee and my state sales tax on the firearm as well when I pick it up. I appreciate the help if there weren't any available locally they would be the best price.

Why would you pay state sales tax on a firearm your buying from out of state?? You are not buying from your FFL dealer, he's just doing the transfer, and only gets the transfer fee. What state are you in BTW???
