Rifle Scopes Different reticle subtension, same Vortex scope?

Looking at the vortex viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP and noticed that the reticle subtension is substantially different between the MOA and MRAD versions. I like the thicker posts and wider hash marks on the MOA version, but I like the more detailed center reticle of the MRAD version. I'm switching to all mil/mil and already have two MRAD Vortex scopes (well one is still backordered), so I think going MOA would just screw me up at this point. (Which is too bad because Liberty Optics has a great hide price on the MOA version). :(

Anybody know why they'd make them so different? MOA posts are 5 MOA thick. MRAD posts are only 1.5 mil (about 1/3 as thick). Also, the gap between the center reticle and the posts is wider on the MOA. The thickness of the crosshairs is the same on both. I'm confused...
