Sgt Young, his wife and Target were at the same table my wife Tina and I were at for the Maricopa County Friends of Animal Care and Control dinner this evening.

Target was honored for his role as one of three dogs who stopped a suicide bomber from getting all the way into a barracks at a FOB in Afghanistan in February. The bomber detonated himself just inside the doorway rather than all the way in the building, injuring just 5 soldiers rather than killing everyone inside. Noone but the three local dogs the soldiers had befriended noticed the raghead making his way into the barracks and they stopped him.
Very cool to meet Target and Sgt Young.

Now that is a true mans best friend! Must have been nice to get the chance to sit with him and chat. That is a great cause as well!

Yup, just stray hadji dogs.
Actually they liked to hang with the soldiers because Americans know how to treat domesticated animals, and these two dogs getting stateside for their heroism is a huge reward, compared to the life they would live in Astan.
