From what I heard this morning, 308pirate, that may be in the works. They were leaning towards having the hearing Monday with or without her (invitation is still open for either open or closed/private hearing, her choice). It appears that if she doesn't show, flakey Flake may take that as a lack of credibility and just go ahead and vote to confirm him. The rumblings were that if she doesn't show on Monday, McConnell has his 50 votes + Pence if necessary and will proceed with the vote. When I heard that I agreed that's exactly what should happen. I also thought that if they do it, they are calling the Dems bluff and it will put incredible pressure on Ford to show up for that hearing on Monday, which as it stands now she's saying she's not going to until there is an FBI investigation, and they're saying they've done all they're going to do.
