Looking for a spotting scope that can do both impact spotting duties and also bird watching, hunting, astronomy, etc. Is this possible and if so, what should I be looking for?

If you'd like to recommend a spotter, then that would be great too. At this point I don't have a budget in mind. I'd like to go inexpensive if possible but I've learned my lesson(s) and will consider all options.

Tough ask. Do you need it to have a reticle for the impact spotting duties part? Are you giving corrections or is it like RO duty where you’re just calling impacts? If you need a reticle then it really limits your options to something like a Hendsolt Spotter 60. The 60x could I guess be used for astronomy, bird watching etc.

If you don’t need a reticle but something that is packable during hunting would be like a Swaro BTX or a Kowa are also very good. I suppose the Swaro STR 20-60 also wouldn’t be bad since you can turn off the reticle when you don’t need it, but the glass is not as good as the BTX line.

a decent pair of bino's you could spot misses and also watch birds or just carry with you anywhere
or maybe this type of set up could work out for you .
good luck what ever you decide to get .

I had a str 80 and swapped it with a btx. I miss my str80 the option to have a reticle and then it off whenever you don’t need it is awesome. I didn’t see much difference compared to glass you really have to be trained to look for the differences in glass quality
