Of Oregon .308? This was a SS fluted bbl.
It has wound up on a friends mauser action rifle and I would like to know the twist if possible so I can get him loading some rounds for it. Thanks in advance. db

Re: Does anyone know the Twist rate for a Kimber

All of the Kimber 308 rifles/barrels I have seen are 1:12 twist.

You can measure this yourself to make a more "scientific" determination...here is a link to the method I have used in the past to determining the twist of a rifle barrel. It works well and you can have a more definite answer in just a few minutes.

As for trout fishing...I'll get out of work one of these days and head south for the day. I usually get down to the Mon Nat'l Forest at least a couple times a year for a weekend trip with the fishing gear in tow. No such luck so far this year though!!

I'll keep that in mind...my stomach rarely allows me to pass up good BBQ!! Thanks for the generous offer and good luck with the Kimber barrel and load development!!!

Re: Does anyone know the Twist rate for a Kimber

I have seen at least 6 kimber of Oregon rifles built on Mauser actions. I think before they had thier own actions. So your friend could have a
kimber built rifle. Then again I am no historian. Should be a
12 twist but could be 10.
