A buddy of mine really loves him some Mosin Nagant and wants to sporterize one.
Are there any smiths out there who work on Nagants? He wants to have the receiver trued (as much as can be done on a Nagant), and a new barrel installed.
I suggested he buy a takeoff Remington barrel, or something similar in price, and have it rechambered/re-threaded in 7.62x54r, rather than going all out and buying a Krieger or Shilen.
