I'm getting a "Accuracy International Action Rail Mount" for a Remington 700 short action.
Do you think this rail will need to bedded to the action?
Do all rails need to be bedded?
How can you tell if a rail needs to be bedded?

LonewolfUSMC has a video that shows how to tell if a rail needs bedded and how to do it.

On 700s, I'd say about 3/4s of the ones I've seen needed bedded. Its not the rail manufacturer, but I've been told that the 700 actions warp during heat treating. I have no idea if that's the reason. It seems to be the stainless 700s are less likely to need bedded.

Hand tight the front screws if you see more than .005 gap on rear i would bed it.. by the way where did you purchase your AI action rail? Is that 20 moa?

In general, I would say any action where the front and rear mount locations are not on the same plane (usually round front, flat back; ie. Remington 700, older Savages, etc.) will need bedding unless you get lucky.

I've seen that video a while ago but forgot about it.
Ok in that video John only beds one side of the rail, is that enough?
Do I need to do both sides?
Will there be any added benefit to bedding both sides?
