Doing ok so far

Due to ammo shortages i had to find another powder other than Varget to use, and may have to find something other than 175gn SMKs as well soon.

Thankfully i was at Bass Pro Shop one day and found 3 pounds of IMR 8208 XBR on the shelf, so i grabbed all 3 hoping it would work (figured it might since i did a fast check online before anyone could buy it). my wife was with me and looked a bit pissed off but i didn't mind. I get to my house and google it and find out it will work out just fine in my AAC-SD.


i have finally been to the range and so far this is my best two groups testing out different amounts of powder.


The following groups were shot at 200 yards

this is with 42.5gn of powder-2671fps (5 shot avg)

this was with 40gn of powder-2635fps (5 shot )avg

Now i have 3 pounds of powder and need to find more 175 gn SMKs lol. might try 168s

Great shootin bud! Wouldnt hurt to try some CFE223 or 2000MR, besides being accurate powders and clean burning, they'll give you more FPS.

Thanks for the info. when I'm out and about ill pick it up if i see it. My cousin picked up some Noslers so we may be testing loads with that soon as well. hopefully this ordeal blows over fast. i miss being able to go to the store and buy stuff when ever i wanted.

I use 8208 in my 5r milspec, 42.3gr with a 175 SMK. It hammers.
