There are quite a few slide/back plate clips and have other styles of holsters that would allow for carrying in gym shorts and board shorts. If you live in FL, it becomes something you can’t live without lol.

I picked up one of those crossbreed holsters for a G43 and it works great in board shorts, and ok in gym shorts as long as they have a draw string.
