Took these thirty minutes apart. Morning started off with a fork chasing a doe in circles around my platform. Eight number one came in and chased the fork off. At 90 yards, I torched 90 grains of BH209 and the 300 grain Barnes expander dropped him in his tracks.
Thirty minutes later the second eight followed two does into a dogwood thicket two hundred yards distant. I followed his rack looking for a hole, nothing. I pulled out my grunt tube and let out three loud grunts. He investigated and poked his shoulder out at 180 yards. MZ went boom and he began a slow run towards me. I grabbed my .44 revolver but at 90 yards he stopped and tipped over.
Thirty minutes after that a yote thought he was going to dine on my second eight. I sent him running into the thicket with a steam vapor trail venting from both sides.
Yesterday morning was action packed.
