Got a Timney Calvin elite put in a seekins upper and lower AR15. Sighting it in, had a few double fires. I just bought this rifle and changed the trigger before. firing it.

Could be you are holding the rifle too loose and it is bump firing, at 1.5 lbs its not too difficult to do.
My friend was sighting it in for him. I got it as a backup and because we have been sharing my rifle at matches, so I was letting him set this one up for his diopter, etc. He says he was free recoiling with his thumb of his right hand resting on the right side of the grip and just touching the trigger with his index finger. He’s new to free recoiling and he doesn’t recall if his middle and ring fingertips were bracing against the front of the grip or not, but he thinks maybe not.
I free recoil my main AR all the time and I’ve never had a bump fire. Is because this other trigger is lighter?
Lighter and no take up. Is your main trigger a two stage? I have a 2.5lb 2 stage I can free recoil all day with but the Timney CE will double or triple every time I try it.
That explains it. I do have a two stage in my main AR. But I was like, I free recoil my single stage on my bolt gun no problem. And then I was like, cause it’s a bolt gun, stupid.
I’ve bump fired an M14 with a 5lb 2 stage trigger. Follow through and position is most important.
