I have been searching around for anyone who makes a "solid" upper for DPMS 308 Lower. Having done mine homework it seems that their is a lot of slop between different mfg companies so I was looking for a DPMS built upper in 308 or possibly 6.5 Creed.
I am aware I could build but I am not at a place where I'd like to do that just yet--looking for a more plug and play solution to go on my Gen 1 recon.
What is my definition of "solid"? Accurate enough for a PRS beginner/amateur long range guy. I am aware that the DPMS is not the end all be all, but mine shoots, and it may even be good enough stock (barrel is 16 and that handguard could stand to be swapped out, but it runs and I put a nice trigger and scope on it). 1.5 MOA accuracy is fine, obviously sub 1 is a target, but that may not be possible in the $1k-2k range (above which--just go bolt and be done with it).
Right now I am aware of Fulton (which tbh is not bad) but was curious if there are any other options out there and it may even be cheaper to get a 6.5 Creed Upper than a new 6.5 rifle., but of course, it has to sit on the DPMS lower.
