I'm looking to put together some loads for my factory DPMS LR-308
I'm using 180gr soft points and IMR4895, both bought from American Reloading. The powder was bought about 2 years ago and is labeled as IMR4895 but is not factory packaged IMR4895. I am aware of some pull down powder recently being hotter than what it was compared to by American Reloading. This issue has me a little concerned with the powder I have.
So, IF, IF, my powder is a "hot" version of IMR4895 considering all of these variables, what do you think would be a safe starting point? I'm thinking 38gr
