Re: DPMS LR308

U need a badger 22moa riser to be able to run regular rings, that way u can get all of the elevation out of your scope. With the riser you can run low rings. Or buy a one price with Moa cant built in.

Re: DPMS LR308

I mounted a 30mm tube scope in Weaver Tactical 6 bolt medium height rings on mine. Cheek weld is spot on. I have the slick-side upper with the built-in riser. I think they are .375" from flat to saddle, and less than 40 bucks.

How many mils are left after a 100yd zero?

Re: DPMS LR308

I see it is the non, bull barrel - should be able to reach out to 800yds with no additional MOA base needed (i would upgrade the trigger first)

Re: DPMS LR308

if it were me I'd just go LaRue/American 1-piece QD mount optimized for the AR hight.

I have also found the IOR's an impossible deal to beat for high tactical rings, usually around $100 or so.

Re: DPMS LR308

chaser you already know this ,,,, if you want to tell everything about it , you might tell a little better than i can lol........ i know its a bushnell 4200 elite and you have hit up to 1500 yards with it .... you can add the rest ....

Re: DPMS LR308

The ARC rings from American Rifle Co. are a great product. I have had 2 sets and they work great.

Those rings and a good 22moa riser like mentioned above, your rig should make it to around 425-500yds with good weather.

Re: DPMS LR308

I used Barrett 30 mm high rings on mine and I still have plenty of elevation to get mine out past 1200 yards with the NF 5.5x22x56.

I went with the Timney "drop in" trigger, it feels much better than the factory trigger, but I have been getting some light primer strikes occasionally. I have shot another guy's who has the geiselle (sp) his was a two stage, I really liked the feel of that one too. Good luck.

See ARPredatorHunter for all your paint needs....http://www.ontargetcustoms.net/

Seems like a good idea to learn how to shoot your AR. You really think your gonna shoot a CQB AR accurately to 1200 yards?

Its a good platform to start, but the barrel length will be a hindrance at long distances. you will have no problem engaging targets to 700 yards, beyond that will be doable but challenging.

Re: DPMS LR308

Whoopie, I noticed your from Campbellsville area.

You should send Chaser a PM to see if you could get up with him sometime. I think he has a 6.5 creedmoor DPMS. Better caliber for long range.

Seen him shoot at matches and he does very good. Maybe you could get up with him in person and he could teach you to shoot and also give you some pointers on your build.

I 2nd ARP at "On Target Customs". Awesome work.

Re: DPMS LR308

I use the night force uni mount, w a 20 moa cant trigger, had the rra national match until I tried chip McCormick, now I have a single stage chip McCormick with the straight trigger and love it.

I did my own, it is one of the kits from Duracoat. It came with the stencils. I see some seriously talented individuals on this site though. I have done two of my own rifles and I am considering have a pro do my next one. Good luck to you.
