DTA bolt pressure?

Any one with DTA experience? How heavy is the bolt closure pressure? Just picked up a used srs in 308. It has a new barrel. The bolt closes fine with ammo or brass. However even with a fired piece of brass it is very hard to close the bolt!

I am use to AI and badger actions, but this is crazy! No way of not coming off the glass when cycling the bolt. Is this normal??

That sounds odd - mine's quite smooth with every conversion, especially once they're broken in. Did you mean to write that it closes fine "without brass"? Because if it's closing fine on it's own, but is tough to close on a piece of brass, that's more likely an issue with brass not being properly sized.

ditto here, multi bolts/barrels, all smooth...have owned/shot most everything out there love the DTA

Agree with the above posts. Have you disassembled it and checked for debris or any other problem?
