Forgive my ignorance I have never had the opertunity to handle one of these rifles.
I am considering ordering one. I want one in 7WSM and know I can have a barrel made in that caliber. Talked to Jared at APA very briefly about it on the phone. I was driving, so very briefly.
My question is: what is the barrel extension? Can it be used on multiple barrels? How hard is it to do this if possible?
Any other advise on having a custom barrel made I should know.
I may put in my order next week.

Re: DTA SRS barrel question

The barrel extension is DTA's proprietary part that allows the chassis to accept different barrels. You need one extension for each barrel, but you can reuse it when you re-barrel or change calibers. The same extension can be used for any caliber. APA and Benchmark do barrels for the SRS, but I am sure there are others. Hope this helps.
