So today I set up my Lee turret press and began setting up the dies for 9mm. Everything was going fine until I seated my first bullet to fine tune/adjust bullet seating. My question is there is a bulge forming in the middle of the cases, are the cases not being sized properly? Is this normal? If it matters the OAL is coming in between 1.070-1.075, it seems that if I set it to 1.075 after seating a few bullets it gets a little shorter. I'm using misc. 9mm brass with Precision Delta 124gr jhp bullets...

If you're concerned about the "bulge", you could use a newer Lee carbide crimping die for 9mm. They actually have 2 carbide rings. The first one is at the bottom of the die, and its function is to essentially FL size any loaded brass. If you have a bulge that might interfere with chambering the round, it will squeeze it down to specs. The upper carbide ring does the actual crimping of the bullet to the case. This has given me some satisfaction and confidence whenever I have a bulge. Bottom line is that none of by pistol reloads have ever failed to go to battery. Good luck.
