I have a TRG42 with the older bolt that I believe is polished steel, but could be chrome. My question is, has anybody out there duracoated one, and if so did you blast, sand, or what?

Tolerances are to tight on the TRG, the Duracoat will be stripped right of with modest use. Seen it happen on my buddys TRG-22.

Re: Duracoat TRG bolt

The older TRG bolts are just "polished" steel. I cold blued mine to "blacken" it, and keep a thin film of corrosionX on the bolt body.

I did about 3 passes with a swab and the cold blue stuff... that was roughly 4 years ago.
