I am a Dutchman, new to long range and extra long range shooting. I currently own an Ar-15, used for a local match type DSR, which is a bit like IPSC.

To get things started in LR and XLR, I am aiming on a AI AXMC in 338LM with a 308 conversion set. The rifle will be ordered in a couple of months, due to local legislation and the limited number of firearms one may possess.

The 308 will mainly be used within the Dutch borders, longest range here is 300meters, but no .338 is accepted. Other ranges are no longer than 100m.

Well, as mentioned AI will be the tool, complementary items are bring purchased bit by bit.

I tried to buy a Vudu from dvor yesterday, but they do not ship it to my country because I need to buy it from a EU Eotech distributor. EU distributors do not want to supply, so no Vudu for my build. I think they think there is something wrong with my money.

Other parts which I thinks will furnish the rifle are going to consist of an Atlas bipod,
Spuhr mount and some electronic level device I saw in a video of x-ring on YouTube. ( If this can be shipped to my continent, that is )

I expect to learn a lot from this site and I hope non-USA residents are accepted here.

Thanks for listening!

Welcome! I always love to see and communicate with folks from The Other Side of the Big Pond!

This is a great place to learn all about the various aspects of precision shooting....at 300 meters you won't need a .338 anyway so get it on, my friend!

VooDoo

101infantry and voodoo,
Thanks for the welcome!

I know 338 for 300meters is quite harsh, but we have got Europe to play in. Luckily we have up to 3.200 meters inScotland, some 1600+ in Italy, France, Denmark and Hungary. We can do basically what the Germans did 70 years ago: shoot our way though our continent ( within limits of law and acting with good neighbourship of course ).

I believe this site is a holy grail for the long range community, at least the parts I have seen and read are.

Thanks again,

J
