Rifle Scopes Early IOR 2-12x32 and 3-18x42 scopes

Does anyone have any information on early IOR 2-12x32 and 3-18x42 (the original SFP, not the SH's FFP edition) scopes? Specifically, I'm looking for information as to when they were first released, how to tell what year a scope was manufactured (can you do it from the SN or are there other characteristics that can be used to date them), any specific flaw or upgrades versus what's available today, and any other general information as to these early scopes.

Also looking to see if anyone has any information as to what a really early scope might sell for (if you have one you might sell, please let me know, I might be interested).
