    Gentlemen,
Please educate your lesser skilled Bubbas on how to mount a scope.
I resently was brought a scope from a friend who bought it at a "Gun Show" got a real good deal on it. See where this is going.
He wanted to change the mounts no problem. Yea right.
Well low and behold the rings were Gorilla torqued and RED locktighted on.
He buggered the screw heads. Had to drill the screws out what a pain and no damage to tube.

Please instruct the Bubbas to even the space on each side of the ring for even clamping action and use no more the 17 in lbs of torque on the screws and in you must use locktite use the BLUE stuff.
    Thanks for letting me vent.

It happens. Had a friend bring me one that he haddnt been able to find the ring caps so he just JB welded the scope in the lower ring halfs. Well the dumb shit didnt get the scope straight up and down. Luckily it was a cheap Bushnell from WalMart and I made him go buy new mounts and scope for it so I could do it properly for him.

it has, not so much now that i work in more of a pro shop, though there are a few that come through. when i was at cabelas, a guy sodered a scope on, people use red loktight, jb weld, people do all kinds of weird and crazy stuff

on a side note, the dayforce rifle scopes are self mounting :)

WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? Are yall saying that it aint right to Duct tape, hose clamp and JB/Epoxy weld a scope to a rifle. Gorrilla glue the flip up lense caps or clean the lenses with brillo pads.

Geese. Next thing I will prolly hear is that the scope is 'spose to go on the top and not next to the trigger.

Lol, I actually caught a guy cleaning his lense with a brillo pad and asked me why it seems to be so foggy.
