Effect of Adjusting Eye Relief on Zero

I realized my eye relief was wrong (I had set it to min zoom not max) so I moved my scope to fix it. I know this will effect my zero and I'm headed to the range to adjust for it but I'm curious, will it move the POI up or down? If down I figure I should adjust my zero stop down before heading out

I moved the optic closer to my eye, I suppose that matters for the answer.

Adjusting the scope to correct eye relief will change the POI slightly, in my experience it's not a lot though, a few clicks maybe to get back zeroed. To be on the safe side I'd adjust the zero stop prior to going out to nip any potential issues in the bud and reset it at the range.
