I searched. Is Hornady ELD or Federal Gold Match in 6.5 creedmoor generally considered better in the long range world?

Or is it Coke vs Pepsi (gun depending)?

I’m not looking for a pissing match just curious and newish to 500-1000 yard shooting.

He never specified bullet weight. Isn't one of Federal Gold Medal offerings loaded with 130 gr Berger Hybrid bullets?
I think federal makes a 140 berger offering too. I assumed b6 meant Berger ammo, not “anything with a Berger bullet”. As much as I think of Hornady ammo as being the benchmark for factory 6.5 ammo, I doubt there would be a lot of difference between Berger ammo, FGMM with Berger bullets, or Hornady ELDM. Maybe you find a barrel that likes one better or maybe you shoot well enough to realize Litz and company’s claims of BC consistency in the 144 LRHT…..or maybe you don’t. If you cant make a sub 1/2” group at 100 with any of them, it’s not likely the ammo.

Get a couple of boxes of each and see what your rifle likes more. Then buy more of that ammo.

I've had good experiences with Hornady in 6.5 Creedmoor. Precision is pretty darn good for factory ammo, however ES/SD isn't great.

Haven't shot FGMM in 6.5 Creedmoor, but it shoots great in .308 and has very low ES/SD for factory ammo.

So would everyone else, but that wasn't his question.
I'm more so just stating another option. If he reloads after? Better brass by a lot. If he doesn't reload then the brass will sell for more (and negate any minor cost difference between berger and Hornady/Federal ammo)

Also the 100+ fps difference between hornady and berger in 140gr. Berger also has the 153.5 and 156 options which is what I'd be running considering theyre the same speed as hornady 140gr

Berger don't blow up like 147s

With factory ammo you will come accross batches that perform better than others in your rifle. Match ammo such as the above mention will generally be more consistent than non match ammo.

I shoot the 140 ELD-M and the FGMM with the 130 grain Burger. Both shoot very well. I personally get more consistent results at longer distances (600-1100 yards) with the 130 grain FGMM.
