Is anyone else having trouble getting these to shoot? I've tried 6 different COALs and powder charge combinations and none were anything to write home about, most were laughable. I'm talking 5-6" groups at times. For giggles I went back to the few Berger 168's I had and 5 shot groups were around an inch. This is a 1999 BDL 700 Custom Deluxe, which will be the gun I hunt with this year. I hope I can use this box of Bullets I bought but I won't if I can't get a good reliable load with them. I've loaded from 67.5-71 gr retumbo in .5 gr increments at 2.745 BTO to Mag length in .010 increments. Sometimes I get two decent shots and then a flyer that is literally 5 inches away. It's terrible. Thanks for any help.

I’m curious if the additional bearing surface in the ELD is exposing your twist as being slightly too slow and you’re stable enough with the Bergers. That’s just a random theory. What is the twist of your rifle and then try some H1000 to switch up the pressure curve and see what it does.

It's a 9.25 twist factory Remington barrel. I do like H1000 and might give that a try. I have just never had issues with a finicky bullet like this.

Try the H1000 and seat .020” off. So far I have experience with the 143 ELDX, 147 ELDM, and 180 ELDM and they all shoot lights out.
