I have a house and a garage that are on two separate streets, with two separate meters. I have never had the electric on in the garage untill recently, because I never used it, and I still never do! I only turned it on because I thought I was going to start using it at night, but never did. Now I have got two electric bills just for the garage, that are extremely high for a place thats never on. First electric bill was $175.00. I thought it was going to be high for staring fees and service charges etc. whatever. Now I have got my second bill for the garage, and its $120.00. Over $100.00 for delevery charges!? These clowns are out of there mind. My average charges per Kwh is .06 cents. Almost all of my high bills are for service and delivery fees. Crazy. Keep in mind this is JUST for the garage. My house is $315.00 this month. Any one else deal with crap like this?

Every charge should be a different line item on your bill. Like the kwh usage, demand charge, taxes, deposit, outdoor light, ect, should all be shown separate, and then totaled. The last reading and the current reading should also be on the bill. Are you sure nothing is on or running? Have you looked at the meter and compared the billed reading? If your garage was ever a commercial operation or has 3 phase service, you may be paying a demand charge based on the last customers use. Give them a call, they can help explain this. I work for an electric utility, but I'm the guy that keeps the lights on! Lightman

Did you ask about the charges up front?
The rate sounds about right, so the other charges are what you need to investigate and inquire about.
I doubt any of their people are members here, so you'd be better off asking the company.
