I believe I'm going to upgrade my scope on the Mark II TR with more mag.

I've been looking at both the Bushnell Elite 6-24x50 (non FFP) and the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50. The Viper is a little cheaper and has more internal travel but only has capped dials.

Will be used for target shooting from 50-250 yards if possible.

Of these two, which one would you folks suggest and why? Has anyone used either on a rimfire?

I'm currently using a Mueller APT and while it seems like a good scope, I can't help but want more mag and higher quality with side adjustment.

I have the Vortex Viper 6.5-20X 50mm PA. I am very satisfied with its performance. It is mounted on a Rem. 40XB .22LR.

i don't think that you could go wrong with either scope, and just to confuse the matter since you have a Mueller, if you are satisfied with it, take a look at the Mueller 25X or the 32X. I also have one each ot these and for the price they are great scopes so far.

thanks guys, I can actually get the Viper for much less than the Bushnell around these parts.

The only problem is if I want the good price, I have to go with a V-Plex reticle and not a mildot.

What's your opinion on that? I like the mildot for wind but do you think the V-Plex will be o.k. or do I really need a mildot for the 22lr?
