1 target at 635 yards. Moving at 2.7 MPH. Hold is 1.5 Mils to center with my cartridge.

3 positions, 3 rounds per position on the bed of the truck.

Engagement method used: Ambush

Why?

Based off the target distance and speed, there was ample amount of time to set up my reticle in front of the target and focus on a good trigger press when I saw my lead. One factor you have to keep in mind with ambushing movers especially if you’re trying to share your leads with other shooters is everyone’s individual “lock time.” That lock time is the amount of time it takes for a shooter’s brain to cognitively process his/her lead and press the trigger.

What’s the best way to get a faster lock time?

SHOOT MORE MOVERS.

Shot that mover last year...for some reason I can do well ambushing from left to right but struggle with right to left movement...definitely need to practice on movers more as you suggest.

@velayo_0317 Awesome video and explanation, Phil! So maybe a dumb question here, but is there a good way to gauge what your own lock time is?
And do you have any good ideas for dryfire practice on movers? I was almost thinking of setting up my laptop and using my DFAT and finding a video or .gif of a moving target :ROFLMAO:
