Green Mill Long-Range Tactical .22 Match Saturday July 20th, 2019

Location: Green Mill sportsman’s range, Erie CO

Time: Show up in person, 8:00am – 8:30 am at the range, limited to 32 shooters
Fees: $25.00 – at the range (cash only)

This is a “training” match that consists of 9 shooting stages and firing between 8 to16 rounds at each stage under time limits ranging between 60 and 120 seconds. The match is shot under Green Mill’s covered small- bore range at 1⁄4 scale steel targets placed a random distances between 35 yards out to 234 yards.

This competition helps develop marksmanship skills and stress long-distance shooting in field conditions and closely mimics long-distance center fire steel matches at 1/4th the distance. In other words, if you manage to hit the 1⁄4 scale IPSC target at 250 yards closely mimics hitting a full-size IPSC at 1,000 yards with a .308. This match includes shooting from supported and unsupported positions (e.g. standing, sitting, kneeling, w/tripods, barricades etc.) under time pressure. The course of fire is fun but challenging and will help each shooter to hone their marksmanship skills. A detailed knowledge of your ballistics as well as good wind reading skills is required to make first rounds hits.
