Ever had a load

Probably seeing the varying differences in velocity at longer ranges that don't mater too much at closer range. Have you measured your loads over a chronograph for ES and SD?

Twist rate is what I was thinking also. Thought I'd try it. I asked about testing and twist rates on here awhile back. Guess it does matter after 100 yards.

They might depending your MV, but if you want to shoot a 223 at long your wasting your time with anything less than a 1/7.7 but if you have to swap barrels or guns get a 1/7 an be done with it. Now all that said unless your going to shooting past 3-400yds change to a flat base bullet an never look back. The 55 gr Hornady FB Vmax will print <1/4moa groups in most factory barrels w/o issue.

600ish is the goal. I wanted to shoot 223 mostly and not shoot my 308 as much. The 223 shoots the SMK 69's fine, as far as I know because I've only had it out to 350. I just wanted to try a bullet with a better bc.

I wonder if the 69 tipped match kings will work? They are a little longer than the regular match kings.
I shoot the 69 TMK out of a Colt 24" CAR A3 1/9" twist. 25.0 Varget / Speer Nickel case / CCI 450 / CBTO: 1.800"-805". I got .6-.8 MOA @ 100 yards and .6-.8 MOA @ 300 yards with it. Haven't shot it further yet.

The 69 smk should get you to 600 just fine, if you already have a load dialed in then all you lack is the actually shooting it that far. With that said it’s probably about the furthest that I would imagine it performs consistently at. It’ll be hard to get a bullet consistent any further with the 9 twist. I know as I’m currently in the same hole and looking at a 7 twist barrel to take advantage of the high bc bullets. I’m shooting a 53 gr varmageddon which has a bc if .303 which is right there with the 69 matchking so I’m hoping the additional velocity will make up some ground but so far it seems to make my shooting days windy.

Sub moa at 100, spreads to 3"-4" at 200. Trying a 73 eld in a 20"1/9 twist.

It's your twist, I had the same issue with my 1:9 20" Remington tactical with 75 a-max and when I tried 80 A-max I then got clear yaw impacts at 100 yards. Another weird thing I observed was when using 80 nosler CC's if I jammed them into the lands they would work but if they were jumped my groups would go from 3/4ish MOA (jammed) to several MOA at distance.

adding:
69 tmk work just fine in my rifle.

Well a little more testing and I'm thinking the 73's will work. This was at 350 with a left to right wind from 5-15.
