I was shooting my JP 223 last week dialing my new Razor Gen2 4-27x. Once I was on paper I shot a bunch of groups at 100 and 200 from prone. It seemed very sensitive as far as how I held the rifle. If I went from a firm hold to a loser one. All of my experience is with bolt guns. I got a few flyers that were unexplained. I know the gun, scope, mount and ammo are all solid. Only variable left was me. Im pulling my Jewel trigger out. Lots of creep that you only really notice when you take your time shooting. If I do my part this rifle easily holds under 3/4 moa.

I always preload the bipod and have my shoulder firmly on the stock with a semi.

However with a bolt gun, especially one with lower recoil, I tend to shoot better with free recoil. Very light pressure on the stock from my shoulder.

We are the point of influence,

This is not a semi but shows just how much this can change

As a side note, to press the point home even further, consider this:

Look at how small the difference between the front and back of a 20MOA rail is ... that tiny amount gives you 20 more minutes of elevation at 100 yards. We not only influence at the trigger by also in the back at the stock. Adding 1" of variation into the system doesn't take much.
