Everyday Sniper Podcast: HideTV Putting the 6ARC Pieces in Place

All the pieces are in place for our 6ARC projects. We have the Terminus Zeus Action with the PPU bolt, we have the Bartlein Barrels being spun up by Greg at Bugholes and we have the ammo coming in along with a chassis for the rifle. I am super excited to get this project moving and think it will make a new videos series on the Hide.

@Lowlight, in one of the latest lives, you’d mentioned you like 80gr for the 6ARC gas gun paired with 103s/108s for the bolt gun. Is that all factory ammo? Hornady stuff?

Any additional details on ammo, barrel length and velocity on the gasser would be much appreciated.

    Yes,

The Gas Guns I have used are 18" and 20" barrels, ( I have a set of Craddock Uppers on the Way) the 80gr bullet was going 2890fps, in the bolt gun both the 103 and 108 go 2750ish, the 108 actually goes 2775fps

Out of the bolt gun I want to say the 80gr was 3000fps, I have look it up.

I was expecting faster with the 103, but they actually went slower than the 108, so the 108 is good, I just wish they went 2800-2850 vs 2750 as that is back in the, I need help zone, but all factory ammo.

Handloads will solve any issues anyone sees with the speeds, but the cartridge is a turnkey solution for people wanting to do everything.

I was zapping Prairie dogs at 700 yards yesterday at the range with the 103, I am playing with the scopes and modified it again so I was nailing dogs that were standing proud.

I am using Factory Ammo, we all know hand loading solves problems, the trick is results across the board with Factory

Thanks for the reply. My dad’s been playing with a 20” upper the past few years and I mentioned some of the podcast episodes where you’d mentioned 6ARC project. Looking forward to hearing anything you learn about the gasser and the bolt guns. I have a mind to build one for my son with an Origin action

Just to clarify, you’re getting 2890 from the 80gr in your gas gun?
