I checked the Exbal site for version changes with no luck.

Re: Exbal / NF Changes

The Nightforce version and Exbal have different version numbers. I suspect the 4.2 is a Nightforce version, and the 6.5 is an Exbal version.

I have build 3550 of Exbal version 6.5, and the only difference between that and the previous version I've noted is that it added the ability to enter Density Altitude instead of the temperature, pressure, and relative humidity. That's a change that's really not needed, unless you're building a density altitude dope table. And you can do that simply by entering the pressure and temperature parameters from the ICAO Standard Atmosphere into the program, instead of the DA.

A copy of the ICAO Standard Atmosphere can be found at the end of this article:

Making Ballistic Cards Using Density Altitude

The changes in the last several years have mostly been feature additions, rather than a significant change to the basic ballistic engine.

If you're really interested in the differences, you might drop the author an email note - I've found him very responsive.

Re: Exbal / NF Changes

I did contact him, he is who informed me that the current Version is 6.5, and I told him it was the NF brand. I have now purchased Exbal twice and have only a outdated version. With all these new Free Apps for the smartphones I am thinking I should let the old Axim die and move along rather than waste $ on buying it all over again just to get the newest version.... it will eat at me thinking there is some "Fix" for a "bug" in my version that will cost me dearly when it really counts. Thanks for the reply Lindy, I really enjoy and have learned allot from your posts and articles.
